The Western Front Today - Dochy Farm New British Cemetery
Dochy Farm New British Cemetery, sited 7km east of Ypres, near Langemarck, was instituted after the war and is comprised of burials from the surrounding battlefields (from Boesinghe, St. Juliaan, Frezenberg and Passchendaele).
The cemetery contains the graves of 524 British, 306 Australian, 98 New Zealand, 81 Canadian, 17 South African, 1 Newfoundland and 412 unidentified soldiers.
The cemetery's name refers to a nearby farm which was a German stronghold, and which was finally captured by the Allies (in the form of the 4th New Zealand Brigade) in early October 1917 during the Battle of Broodsiende.
